The Uzbek Honey Cake, known as Medovik, is a beloved Central Asian dessert with roots in Russian imperial baking traditions. Our version features multiple thin, golden sponge layers made with eggs, flour, and a fragrant honey-sugar syrup infused with bicarbonate of soda for that signature lightness. Each layer is generously filled with a luxurious butter cream made from pure unsalted butter and condensed milk, creating a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The cake is assembled and left to rest, allowing the cream to soften the sponge layers into a perfectly moist, harmonious dessert. Each slice is approximately 7cm x 7cm — the perfect portion with tea or coffee.
